Project Overview

For my Body Politics class, I created two awareness-based infographics about issues that are often present in everyday life but not always easy to identify. One piece examines gender-based violence through media examples and patterns of control, while the other focuses on environmental and consumer-product exposures linked to breast cancer risk.

The Infographics

Hidden in Plain Sight

This infographic examines gender-based violence through recognizable media examples, showing how control, manipulation, intimidation, and possessiveness can be framed as romance or family loyalty.

What’s in Your Environment?

This infographic focuses on the hidden environmental and consumer-product exposures linked to breast cancer risk, including pesticides, personal products, nonstick cookware, rBGH, and air pollution.

Design Reflection

With both infographics, my goal was to create eye-catching visuals that bring attention to important issues that are more common than people may realize. I used bright colors, clear sectioning, and familiar examples to draw readers in and make dense information feel more approachable.
